How we learned - The Question

In this project, we asked how community learning groups become inclusive places for lifelong learning. How do these learning groups make learning possible for people who might be excluded from other learning environments because of their lack of formal education, their difficulty using written language, their ways of learning, the kinds of knowledge they want to pursue?  And, beyond being inclusive, what is the contribution of these learning groups to lifelong learning in Canada?  Finally, how can such learning groups be supported?

We have answered these questions by experiencing, discussing, describing and analysing community learning groups that we call learning circles. We have done this in our own learning circle, the Lifelong Learning Working Group, in collaboration with the participants in the learning circles in the study.
